Elk Mountain, Wyoming (PRWEB) March 12, 2006

The Buffalo Guys LLC, a group of skilled buffalo ranchers who have joined forces to bring nature’s finest buffalo meat to the marketplace today announced that they have introduced a line of plainly labeled products that are gluten free, and thus safe to enjoy by those with Celiac Disease.

Gluten intolerance is a growing problem in the United States. In fact, one out 133 people in the United States suffers from Celiac Disease. Those affected, experience serious discomfort when ingested gluten sets off an autoimmune reaction that causes the destruction of the villi in the small intestine and seriously interferes with nutrient absorption and good health. Symptoms vary but may include constipation, diarrhea, anemia, bloating, gas, osteoporosis, even fatigue, weight loss and infertility.

People with gluten intolerance should totally eliminate foods that contain gluten from their diet. Foods that contain gluten include wheat, barley, rye and in some cases oats and many other cereal type grains. That means that most grains, cereals and all processed foods should be carefully examined before consumption by those with gluten intolerance.

The Buffalo Guys offer a line of buffalo meat products that contain no gluten and are ideal for Gluten intolerance sufferers. People with Celiac Disease are unaffected by pure buffalo meat and as such can eat as much of these foods as they like.

?Eating a gluten-free diet will greatly affect a person?s whole life,? said Ken Klemm, President of The Buffalo Guys. ?Those with Celiac Disease need to be extremely careful in what foods are eaten and gluten free products can be very hard to find. That is why natural alternatives such as Buffalo Meat are becoming more and more popular.?

Some may assume that all meat is safe for those with gluten intolerance. However, this is not true. Pure meats such as buffalo meat, fish and poultry are always a safe bet but be careful when choosing processed meats such as hot dogs and even pre-made patties. Be certain to select only those that are made without fillers such as those offered by The Buffalo Guys. Be extra careful not to purchase those that contain wheat, rye, oats, barley or other fillers.

Fresh vegetables are also very good. All fresh, frozen, or canned vegetables; including dried peas and beans and lentils are excellent examples of acceptable foods for those that are gluten intolerant. One should avoid most salad dressings and cream sauces as these often contain flour. Also canned baked beans and some commercially prepared vegetables quite often have a source of gluten included.

A growing number of people eating gluten free products are turning to The Buffalo Guys products as a safe and tasty addition to their gluten free diet. The Buffalo Guys http://www.TheBuffaloGuys.com have seen a marked increase in the number of people who inquire about the contents of their products with respect to the gluten content.

(PRWEB) January 09, 2012

In an effort to distinguish themselves from the many fly-by-night hCG vendors online, BioMazingHCG.com is now offering free PantoSure? with every hCG order made on their site. PantoSure? is a skin-tightening metabolism booster that can accelerate weight loss results when combined with the hCG weight loss diet.

BioMazingHCG.com made the decision to include free PantoSure? with every hCG drops purchase after discovering that many dieters suffer from weight loss stalls, lack of energy and even hunger, not because they are consuming a very-low calorie diet, but because their bodies are lacking vital nutrients. Years of study and scientific research demonstrate that the vitamins and nutrients included in PantoSure? help the body breakdown and metabolize fat, increase endurance, tighten and tone skin, and boost energy.

?PantoSure? is the perfect accompaniment to any weight loss diet, but proves exceptionally valuable for those taking hCG drops. Customer success is our number one priority ? we will do what it takes to ensure each and every person sees results. BioMazing HCG? is extremely effective on its own, but adding in PantoSure? means that our customers lose weight faster, avert weight loss stalls and prevent sagging skin.?

? Chuck Turner, Owner

Formulated with high amounts of Pantothenic Acid (vitamin B5), L-leucine, magnesium, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, PantoSure? is able to boost the metabolism while tightening up the loose sagging skin that is often a result of fast weight loss.

After weeks of dieting, it is not uncommon for hCG users (especially women on their menstrual cycle) to hit a plateau where their weight loss stalls for 4 days or more. And while Dr. Simeons? ?Apple Day? will help to overcome their plateau, PantoSure? can prevent this occurrence from happening altogether.

Editor’s Notes: BioMazingHCG.com offers hCG drops and hCG diet plans that help users lose an average of 1-2 pounds per day. In order to ensure customer success, every purchase comes with meals, recipes and unlimited customer support.

Bridgton, ME (PRWEB) April 5, 2006

Approximately 1 in 133 persons in Canada are believed to be affected by celiac disease, according to some estimates, and the Canadian Society of Intestinal Research states that some medical sources believe the figure is closer to 1 in 200 Canadians.

Celiac Disease, also known as celiac sprue, is an autoimmune disorder. In order to develop celiac disease, a person needs to have the celiac gene, some kind of “trigger” or activation of the gene, and be eating gluten. People with celiac disease can’t eat gluten, a grain-based protein found in wheat, rye, barley, and triticale. When they do, the protein sets off an immune response that causes damage to their small intestine. Symptoms of celiac disease vary widely, as do their severity. Some people don’t have any symptoms at all. Others may experience diarrhea, bloating, abdominal cramping, anemia, fatigue, muscle cramping, pain in the bones or joints, unexplained weight loss, weakness, decreased ability to clot blood, osteoporosis, depression, mood changes, and more. There is no cure, but the disease can be treated with a gluten free diet.

Unfortunately, it?s not always easy to tell which products are gluten free because gluten often ?hides? in other ingredients like hydrolyzed vegetable protein, plant protein, spelt, soy sauce, and malt. The Canadian Celiac Association recently published a Pocket Dictionary which lists food ingredients that are acceptable for those on a gluten free diet and those which must be checked. Now Canadian Celiacs have another tool to help them locate products they can use.

The Clan Thompson Celiac Food SmartList for Canada provides gluten information on over 2050 products available in Canadian stores. The software program makes it easy to search on products by name (such as “Bick’s Baby Dill”), category (such as “Pickles”) or manufacturer (such as “Bick?s”). Information is verified directly with each manufacturer and a ?Comments? field is included to help users make informed decisions. Typical comments might include: ?Manufactured in a facility that does not process any products containing gluten.? or ?Company does not guarantee that any product is ‘completely’ gluten free.?

Clan Thompson is a family owned business located in Maine, USA. Partners Lani K. Thompson and Jeffrey Thompson decided to open their business in 1997, shortly after Lani?s husband was diagnosed with celiac disease. Since then, five other members of their family have learned that they, too, have the disease.

Their Celiac SmartList software has been available in the US for approximately eight years where it is endorsed by Dr. Cynthia S. Rudert, a Board Certified Gastroenterologist in Georgia, specializing in Celiac Disease. Dr. Rudert is the Medical Advisor for the Celiac Disease Foundation and for the Gluten Intolerance Group, two national associations in the USA.

Over 100 manufacturers and 50 categories of food are represented in the Canadian SmartList software, including a category for restaurant menus. Versions are available for Windows, Mac OS X or Palm OS.

Not a quick diet or weight-loss plan (although this is apparently a side benefit). Following the likes of Woody Harrelson, Demi Moore and other proponents of the Raw Food diet.

Living Foods as they are preferred to be called (makes you think you are less like a rabbit or cow) and made up of foods that have not been cooked. The idea is that the living enzymes found naturally in raw foods assist in the digestive process. Without these enzymes (as in cooked foods) our bodies have to produce these enzymes and this takes a lot of energy.

Sounds easy- save yourself all that washing up, energy for your cooker, throw away your toaster and even your kettle. What favourite dish will you be missing? Apparently none.

Living foods are not carrots and celery sticks, but Thai Curry, Butternut Noodles, Lasagna, Spaghetti, Chocolate Cakes and soups are all on the menu board! Herbs and spices take on a whole new taste when used raw with Paul’s expert advice and experience at hand.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 27, 2006

A new informational website, http://www.GoDairyFree.org, has emerged to address the growing demands of special diet consumers. Comprehensive guides, news, health information, recipes, resources, and product lists have packed this website full of usable content. ?Our goal is to create a complete, one-stop resource for consumers interested in any aspect of dairy free cooking, shopping, dining, or dieting?, stated Alisa Fleming, founder of Go Dairy Free.

Fleming is a self-proclaimed user and creator of http://www.GoDairyFree.org. She transitioned to a dairy free diet several years ago for medical reasons, and found resources on the topic to be quite scattered, lacking in nutritional merit, and at times, expensive. Fleming professes, ?I began researching and organizing the information for my own use, and then realized how many people could be helped if I published it for free access?.

How many people indeed. In 2003 Harris Interactive, a worldwide market research and consulting firm, conducted a national poll on vegetarianism. According to their survey, 6% of Americans never consume dairy products. This equates to well over 17 million dairy free consumers. Some may consider this number high, but many food manufacturers would agree that this estimate is right on the mark. Supply must keep up with demand, and the number of dairy free products on grocery shelves has skyrocketed into the new millennium. In fact, Go Dairy Free has uncovered over 2500 manufactured foods that are not only made without milk ingredients, they are also free from hydrogenated oils and other processed ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup.

So who are all of these dairy free people? Millions of lactose intolerant and milk allergic consumers have made the choice out of necessity. Many more select a vegan lifestyle for personal and social implications. Manufacturers have long recognized a consistent demand for Kosher Parve (dairy free) foods from the Jewish community. However, above and beyond these expansive groups, the fastest growing collection of dairy free dieters seems to be emerging from individuals seeking to prevent or treat chronic disease. A gluten free / casein free (milk protein) diet is a well-known option for those suffering with autism, chronic fatigue syndrome, or fibromyalgia. In addition, the infamous obesity epidemic is leading towards a massive experimentation with diets free from dairy or dairy fats in the pursuit of weight loss and overall health. http://www.GoDairyFree.org makes sure to address these crowds as well, with their 10-day challenge and a free printable diet journal.

Wary of too many advertisements and costly subscriptions, consumers like Fleming are returning to the Internet to create their own informational websites. Food manufacturers and consumers alike are quickly discovering the benefits of Go Dairy Free?s open meeting grounds. With unpaid product reviews, a newsletter, menu suggestions, and new product announcements onstage for the coming months, it seems the content supply of http://www.GoDairyFree.org will continue to follow the rapidly expanding demand.

Losing weight and weight maintenance is a constant battle. The Paleo Diet is not a fad diet or yo-yo diet. Keep in mind this is not an overnight drastic weight loss diet. For weight loss the Paleo Diet is a gradual process for desired weight loss and weight maintenance results. Paleo Diet, Caveman Diet, Stone-Age Diet and Hunt Gatherers Diet are gluten, dairy, soy and preservative free. Foods included are lean red meat, poultry, fish, fresh vegetables and fruits, eggs, nuts, seeds, natural herbs and spices. Foods excluded are potatoes, dairy products, legumes, processed sugar and processed foods. Cavemen ate their foods raw. Potatoes and legumes contain toxins raw and were excluded from the diet. Cavemen and Cavewomen were hunter-gatherers roaming in small groups always looking for food and shelter. The Paleolithic diet kept the Caveman lean and healthy. This nutritious healthy diet has been handed down to Modern Man. Paleo Diet not limited for those with food intolerances but an optimal nutritious diet for the Whole Family. Mother Nature Diet low fat, low carb, gluten free, dairy free, soy free and preservative diet for weight loss, weight maintenance and optimal health.
The Paleo Diet can be restrictive. Some foods allowed in general gluten free, dairy free and weight loss diets are not allowed in the Paleo Diet. Based on your personal preferences a strict or modified Paleo Diet maybe best suited for your health, weight-loss goals and life style.

Paleo Diet’s Vegetable and Fruit Benefits
Vegetables: Vegetables are fibrous. Fibers in vegetables regulate the digestive system, clearer and healthier. High consumption of vegetables prevent irregularity and constipation.

- Leafy green vegetables, broccoli and peppers are full of beta-carotene. Beta-carotenes are full of anti-oxidants and associated with lowering the risk of heart diseases and lung cancer.
- Spinach and whole grain rice will provide the amino acids provided in meats.
- Vegetables have high levels of water. Vegetables are fat free and low in calories. The nutrients in vegetables boost energy production within the muscle cells. Consuming high levels of vegetables healthy lose weight.
Vegetables are low in sodium meaning less water retention.
- Fats in vegetables are unsaturated.
- Cholesterol and triglyceride (fats in the blood) levels dropped with high consumption of vegetables.

Fruits: Citrus fruits, strawberries and other fruits are rich in vitamin A, C and E protectors against a host of ills. These vitamins are important anti-oxidants and protect the body against oxidants. Fruits like vegetables are fibrous helping keep the digestive system regular.

- Phytonutrients are the pigments that make blueberries blue and cranberries red. Recently discovered phytonutrients are powerful antioxidants.
- Cholesterol and triglyceride (fats in the blood) levels dropped with high consumption of fruit.
The USDA recommends at least five servings of fruit daily

Arlington, Texas (PRWEB) January 04, 2012

On the invitation of Prof. Deepak K. Datta of the College of Business at the University of Texas at Arlington, Medical Tourism Corporation CEO, Mr. Deepak Datta, shared an insight on ?Medical Tourism? with UTA Executive MBA Class, during their post-dinner session in a December evening class.

(There is no typing error! They both share the same name.)

Mr. Deepak Datta, at the executive MBA program of the University of Texas, talked about globalization in healthcare industry as related to Medical Tourism.

The practice of seeking medical treatments outside one?s local healthcare system dates back to thousands of years, when people traveled to get treatments for various ailments in mineral water spas. However, technology, more efficient means of travel, and active involvement of mass media have contributed to a steady growth in the numbers of patients traveling overseas for surgeries.

Mr. Datta said that medical tourism is a regional phenomenon, with most medical tourists preferring to visit nearby countries for their healthcare needs.

While Americans and Canadians mostly head to Mexico and Costa Rica, people from Africa and the Middle East prefer to go to India. Korea is the medical destination of choice for many people from Japan, while Thailand is the top choice for most Australians& many countries in Europe.

Price, safety, travel distance, visa rules, local laws and quality of healthcare are obviously the chief considerations for medical tourists while deciding their healthcare destination, but some cultural influence is also noted. While US Hispanics head to Mexico, the Britons prefer other European countries.

A destination?s reputation for a particular medical service also matters and some countries are more popular for certain procedures than others.

Surrogacy in India attracts many foreigners struggling with infertility issues. Cosmetic surgeries like breast implants, liposuction and hair transplant in India also have many takers because of their low prices. Treatments for heart problems and orthopedic treatments like knee replacement, hip replacement, cervical and lumbar spinal disc replacement in India are sought by people, who cannot afford them at their native places.

Low cost dental treatments and weight loss surgery in Mexico are preferred by Americans and Canadians, who do not want to travel too far for healthcare. Many Americans prefer to drive down to the border, get their root canals or dental implants in US-Mexico border clinics (which have mushroomed at a remarkable rate over the past few years) and return home the same day.

Many people also opt to get their dental implants in Costa Rica. Besides, they fly to get bariatric and cosmetic surgeries in these Latin American countries, because not only the prices are low, but also the treatments are high quality. Realizing the potential of medical tourism industry, the doctors are prepared to deal with medical tourists and accordingly arrange for English-speaking staff.

While the official and most commonly used language in Costa Rica is Spanish, it is not difficult to find a dentist or cosmetic surgeon in Costa Rica, who is fluent in English.

Low priced cosmetic surgery in Thailand is also a big draw for medical tourists as they not only get the cost advantage but also get to maintain privacy for their beauty enhancing treatments. Thailand, however, is preferred more by Australians as the distance is less and flights are relatively convenient.

Who wants to wait in long lines to see the dentists, when you can get immediate load dental implants in Thailand at less than half the price?

According to Mr. Datta, elective procedures like weight loss surgery, cosmetic surgery, fertility treatments and dental care are the most common medical services people travel for. This is probably because these are generally excluded from insurance coverage and a medical tourist is usually self-paying.

However, hospitals also get many foreign patients who are looking for more serious treatments like chemo or radiotherapy for cancer, heart valve repair/replacement, ivf treatments, knee/shoulder/elbow/hip replacement and other major surgeries because either the doctors at their home are too busy to quickly give them an appointment and relieve their pain or they are too expensive that an individual dreads upsetting his yearly budget if he decides to undergo a particular surgery.

The UTA MBA students got an overview of the medical tourism industry from a man who has been in the industry for over many years. Mr. Datta not only shared facts about the current trends in medical tourism, but also talked about the various factors that have fuelled globalization of healthcare industry in the past decade.

He said that the unavailability of doctors or particular medical services at one?s home turf, better quality of care in another country, and local healthcare services that are beyond one?s financial means are the factors that drive medical tourism. Privacy issues at home also sometimes cause people to move out for their medical treatments.

Mr. Datta clearly dispelled the impression that Medical Tourism is a fast growing phenomenon, referring to a research that indicated closure of many medical tourism companies in North America.

However, he pointed that there is no reliable data gathering methodology to validate the number of medical tourists.

People who travel to get medical treatments away from their local healthcare systems are called medical tourists. Some do it to save money, while others travel in pursuit of better services abroad, or to maintain their privacy. Expats, home returning nonresidents, tourists availing emergency medical services, are also clubbed together as medical tourists. There are also some spa & wellness travelers, but they do not represent a strict medical tourist.

Patient numbers of Medical Tourism Co., a Texas-based medical tourism company run by Mr. Datta, have been growing at a significant rate since 2008, essentially due to extended network of hospital and doctors.Mr. Datta has continuously endeavored to join hands with the finest hospitals in several countries and is quite upbeat about the growth of the company in near future.

Medical Tourism Co. has networked with reputed hospitals in Mexico, Costa Rica, Belgium, Turkey, Jordan,El Salvador, South Korea, Thailand, and India, and over the past few years, the company has facilitated out-of-country medical treatments for over 2000 patients from the West.

The UTA MBA students also got to learn about the challenges faced by the patients and the hospitals in the globalization of healthcare industry, which include the absence of anyglobal standard patient outcome data, no clear cut follow-up regimen, language & cultural differences, safety issues at a medial destination, long travel, and complex visa laws in some countries.

Mr. Datta shared that patients are sometimes apprehensive of the quality of care offered in a foreign hospital and they are not certain about the follow up care since traveling long distances again is difficult.

On the hospitals? part, many times there is lack of understanding the market. It is important to promote and provide what a medical traveler is looking for, and tourism, Mr. Datta says, is always secondary for these travelers.

Mr. Datta also explained how medical tourism works with medical insurance companies. He revealed that there have been some efforts in this direction but none has been very successful.

With the media hype surrounding medical treatments abroad, it is quite likely that hospitals in the west have started feeling a little threatened by the whole concept.

However, the vulnerability of American hospitals to medical tourism is not very convincing as majority of medical tourists travel abroad for elective procedures that are self-paying.

Had medical travel not been an option, they may have never got the procedure done in the first place at home.

Mr. Datta also noted that US probably benefits the most from the medical tourism industry, as thousands of patients from different parts of the world visit leading American hospitals like MD Anderson Cancer Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins, Harvard Medical, and others. Most of these patients are either wealthy individuals or sponsored by their home governments.

Towards the end of the presentation, Mr. Datta shared in which direction he sees the industry to be headed, and talked about the future of the US medical traveler.

Prof. Deepak K. Datta(UTA), an award-winning business teacher and researcher, had invited MTC?s Deepak Datta to share his knowledge about the ?Globalization in the Healthcare Industry? with UTA MBA students.

The South Beach Diet is not a low-carb or a low-fat diet. The South Beach Diet means choosing the right carbs and the right fats to eat healthy and lose weight. The diet claims that one could lose anywhere between 8 and 13 pounds in the first 2 weeks. There are three phases in the South Beach Diet. South Beach Diet phase 1 lasts for 2 weeks, sufficient amounts of protein, good fats and carbs with the lowest glycemic index are allowed. One can have normal helpings six times a day, so as to not feel hungry.

Lean cuts of beef, skinless poultry, all types of fish and shellfish, boiled ham, fat-free or low-fat cheese, peanuts, pecans, pistachios, eggs, artichokes, asparagus, beans and legumes, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, eggplant, lettuce, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, zucchini, canola and olive oils, all seasonings that contain no added sugar, broth, butter sprays, pepper, sweets (limit to 75 calories per day) are allowed in the first phase. In the South Beach Diet phase 2, the goal is to eat more carbs again while continuing to lose weight. In the South Beach Diet Phase 3 is the maintenance phase, how you are supposed to eat for the rest of your life.

Gluten Free Diet Food:

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and oats that give the dough its tough, elastic character.

Agluten-free diet eliminates all wheat, rye, barley and oat gluten from the diet, as a form of treatment for gluten-sensitive enteropathy (celiac disease). Thus most grain, pasta, cereal and processed foods must be avoided. People can also buy gluten-free products. Hidden sources of gluten include additives, preservatives, and stabilizers found in processed food, medicines, and mouthwash. The gluten free diet food is a lifetime requirement, though some people with celiac disease, also known as gluten intolerance do not improve on the gluten-free diet. Use corn, rice, soy, arrowroot, tapioca, and potato flours or a mixture instead of wheat flour in recipes. Buy plain, frozen, or canned vegetables and season with herbs, spices, or sauces made with allowed ingredients. Other gluten-free diet foods that are allowed are all meat, poultry, fish, and shellfish, eggs, dry peas and beans, nuts, peanut butter, soybean, cold cuts, frankfurters, or sausage without fillers. Malted milk, some milk drinks, flavored or frozen yogurt should be omitted from the diet. Avoid sauces, gravies, canned fish and other products with HVP/HPP made from wheat protein.
